Scripture Reading: Mark 5: 21-34

Focus

“When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.” (Mark 5: 27)

The woman with the issue of blood showed up at a time when a multitude was pressing on Jesus, and she joined in the press behind. The multitude came before her, she could only join from behind, she could only join from a disadvantaged position, she joined a race when many others had already joined, but she later touched the hem of His garment and was healed. She joined the press, and her purpose took her to the target.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you may have joined the press from behind, but you will eventually hit your target. You may have come late, you may have started later than others, you may already be disadvantaged by reason of when you came and those who came before you, but as surely as the Lord lives, you will achieve all that you set out to achieve. The multitude on your way will not stop or hinder your results.

The multitude may not have had the same target as that woman with the issue of blood, they may not have come for the same thing, they had their goals and the woman with the issue of blood had hers, and in the end, their presence did not stop her. Do not fret on account of those who came before you; your goal may not be same as theirs, and their presence does not pose a threat to what God is about to make happen in your life.

Never let the multitude around you be your excuse for not joining in the press when you should. Never use the number of people who started before as an excuse to stay where you are instead of making a move. Never allow the fact that some people are already ahead of you to stop you from hitting your target; never allow any multitude to hinder you from going for goal.

When the chips are down, you have a God to touch and a destiny to fulfill. Let no man stop you from joining in the press.

Declaration

I will press on despite the multitude; I will hit my target, in Jesus’ name!
