A New Jerusalem

22nd March 2020

Scripture Reading: Luke 17: 11-19

Focus

“And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.” (Luke 17: 11)

In John’s narrative, after the earthly Jerusalem was destroyed, a New Jerusalem emerged from heaven (see Revelations 21). The first Jerusalem was reduced to rubbles, but a second one emerged which was not built by mere mortals. The first Jerusalem was brought down, but a second, better Jerusalem was used to replace it. When it looked like the first Jerusalem had been put out of circulation, a better Jerusalem emerged.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: men may have messed up your initial ‘Jerusalem’, but God is rewarding you with a better Jerusalem. God is sending you something better than what you lost; God is sending you a better package. God is causing you to have a better ‘Jerusalem’ crafted by heaven. God is sending you a better offer that will eclipse whatever you think you lost. God is sending you a better arrangement.

Get ready: for every ‘earthly Jerusalem’ that has gone down, a better one is emerging from heaven. For every opportunity that men made you lose, a higher opportunity is arising from heaven. For every place where you were denied, a new wave of acceptance that is heaven orchestrated is coming your way. For every time your human efforts were brought to nothing, God is causing you to have results from heaven’s efforts.

Don’t be afraid of those who are currently tampering with your ‘earthly Jerusalem’. God has them well figured out. God has them well factored into His plan for your life, and as they tamper with the ‘Jerusalem’ they can see, God will cause you to have a ‘superior Jerusalem’ that you couldn’t have created for yourself. As men fight over your current Jerusalem, God will prepare a greater Jerusalem for your destiny.

Ask God to send you a better Jerusalem not made with hands; ask God to cause you to have a New Jerusalem.

Declaration

For every ‘earthly Jerusalem’ that has passed away, I receive a ‘New Jerusalem’, in Jesus’ name!

Memory Verse

“18. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43: 18-19)
