Divinely Preserved

7th January 2020

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 10: 1-7

Focus

“Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?” (1 Samuel 10: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Saul was anointed with oil. Another component of the oil that was used in Bible times is the myrrh. Myrrh is a preservative. So Saul was anointed with the oil of preservation. He was going to be faced with several battles as the Captain of the Lord’s people, but ahead of the battles and opponents, he was bestowed with the oil that preserves. Saul was divinely preserved.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2020, you are divinely preserved. Ahead of whatever battle that may come your way in this year, you are divinely preserved; ahead of whatsoever contention that may arise around your throne or crown, you are divinely preserved; ahead of whatsoever conspiracy that may come against you, you are divinely preserved; ahead of whatever satanic plots against you, you are divinely preserved.

This year, you will not be swallowed by the challenges that come your way. You will not be consumed by the haters of your destiny; you will not be consumed by any health challenge; you will not be consumed by the attacks of the enemy against you; you will not be a victim of another man’s mistake; you will not be reduced by the battles against you; you will not be consumed by the arrows of the enemy.

You belong to the generation of those who are shielded while they reign on their throne and wear their crown. Your time on the throne will not make you a victim; your crown will not cause you to go down; your greatness will not make you vulnerable; your open doors will not put you in danger; your influence and relevance will not make you go down; you will be preserved; your thrones and crowns will come with preservation.

Focus on the Lord who has promised to preserve you, and pay less attention to the threats of the enemy. As surely as the Lord lives, you will be preserved.
