No Back And Forth

Don’t Bulge

13th July 2022

Scripture Reading: Judges 16: 1-25

Focus

: “And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;” (Judges 16: 16)

It is instructive to observe that as Delilah kept disturbing Samson, seeking the source of his strength, Samson remained strong and invincible for the period that he refused to expose the source of his strength. She disturbed him daily, but he didn’t bulge, albeit for a while; and for that period that he didn’t bulge, the lords of the Philistines kept away from him. Samson kept Delilah away from the source of his strength, and he remained strong.

Friend, it doesn’t matter how long the enemy has devoted himself to infiltrate into your life, just keep him off. It doesn’t matter how the desire of sin is chasing after you daily; just keep it away and you will not fall. It doesn’t matter if the temptations that are coming your way have become a daily experience; say no to the enemy and he will have no option but to flee. It doesn’t matter how long your Delilah has lasted; if you say no, you won’t go down.

Delilah was willing to press on Samson for many days. She was willing to keep pushing him over a period of time so that he can bulge. Be careful when the ‘Delilah’s of this world decide to give you a lot of time. They are simply giving you time to accept your own downfall by opening the doors of your life to them. The Delilah’s of this world are simply seeking a chance to wreck your destiny, and they may hang around you for as long as they need to, in order to achieve their aim.

Is there a ‘Delilah’ that has been hanging around you for too long? Now is the time to disconnect. Now is the time to walk away from relationships that are a snare to your soul. Now is the time to stay away from those people who are exposing you to your own downfall. Now is the time to say no to every man that wants to help you to become ordinary. Now is the time to shut the doors of your life against the persistent Delilah’s.

Remember, that it has lasted long is not an excuse to succumb to it. That a temptation has been there long enough is not a reason to finally bulge or yield to it.

Declaration
