Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 10: 1-12

Focus

“Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:” (1 Samuel 10: 3)

After the good news which Saul was to receive at Rachel’s sepulcher, Samuel told him to go forward from there. Saul was to go forward from the place where he received good news. He was not going to settle in Rachel’s sepulcher simply because it had become a signpost of good news. He was not meant to sacrifice his advancement on the altar of the good news he received. There was movement to be made after the good news.

Friend, glean some wisdom from Saul: there is movement to be made after that good news that you are currently celebrating. There is a next level after that current achievement that has heightened your joy. There are more grounds to conquer after your last conquest. There are more heights to attain after the one you just attained. There are more results waiting after your last result. There are more heights ahead of you.

No matter how much good news that comes your way, never let it distract you from moving forward. No matter what God causes to come your way, never mistake it as an excuse to stop moving forward. Let no achievement become your reason for stagnation and mediocrity. Let no conquest conquer your desire for more. Let no victory become your last victory. Let no good news shut the door of your advancement.

There were more men waiting for Saul after the good news he received at Rachel’s sepulcher. There were prophets that he was meant to encounter. There were men who had gifts to give to him. There was a throne to ascend to, and there was no point remaining at the place where he met his last good news. Hear me: as you receive your good news, be grateful to God, celebrate the much you can, but move on quickly to your next conquest.

Don’t let the blessings of today distract you from the greatness of tomorrow. Press on, move on, and by all means keep moving.

Declaration

I keep moving, no stopping; no result will distract me from future conquests, in Jesus’ name!

Memory Verse

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,” (Philippians 3: 13)
