Scripture Reading: John 5: 1-11

Focus

“Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.” (John 5: 2)

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of a pool that was called Bethesda, having five porches. The number five is symbolic of grace. So at the pool of Bethesda, there was a symbolism of grace. Within the same precincts of Bethesda, there were multitudes of blind, halt, withered and impotent folk waiting for an angel to stir the waters. These multitudes were within the five porches. Put differently, they were within the boundaries of grace.

Friend, did you notice that there was no record of death amongst the multitude of sick folks in Bethesda? There was grace to sustain them in the midst of their adversity; and today, I hear the Lord say, there is grace to help you survive every negativity you are currently faced with. There is grace to help you survive the negative impacts of the pandemic that is gradually blowing over. There is grace to help you survive your health challenge. There is grace to help you outlive every adversity.

Notice that survival was not all that happened in Bethesda; the man that Jesus eventually met was healed. So beyond the grace to survive, there was also grace to leave whatever sickness that brought him to Bethesda. There was grace to survive and even a greater grace to help him step out of negativity. Today, the Lord unleashes the grace to help you step out of negativity. The Lord releases grace to help you break out of pain and shame.

The Lord is releasing grace to you to help you rise above every negativity you are submerged in. The Lord is releasing to you grace to help you out of that financial mess. The Lord is releasing grace to you to help you prevail over the battles that are raging against you. The Lord releases grace to you to help you rise above every negativity in your health, marriage, family, business, career, academics, projects, etc.

Remember, grace is not only here to help you survive. It is also here to help you defeat whatsoever came to defeat you. Embrace the grace of God that empowers men to survive and defeat negativity.
