Our Focal Scripture speaks of that day when Joshua and the men of war compassed around Jericho seven times. These men undertook a journey that should take seven days to complete, and they did it in one day without getting tired. It may have seemed insignificant, but the first miracle was that they marched round Jericho without getting tired. The same thing that should have weakened them did not weaken them at all.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will march round your walls of Jericho without getting tired. You will undertake journeys and missions that should drain you of strength and resources, but instead of coming out weaker, you will come out stronger. You will go through the same things that should weaken or reduce others, but you will not be weakened or reduced. Even if you pass through challenges that have negative consequences, those negative consequences won’t be your portion.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: your strength will not wane. You will not expire. You will not go down. You will not be reduced. Whatever that could reduce you in time past will not reduce you anymore. The battles that weakened others will not weaken you. The opposition that reduced others will not reduce you. The challenges that halted the movement of others will not halt your movement. Your strength will not expire.
What should have been the consequence of walking round the city for seven days was not the lot of Joshua and his men. God says, you will not suffer the negative consequences that people around you suffer. What reduces others will increase you. As others go down, you will go up. As others mourn over their difficulties, you will celebrate the grace that God has given you to be more and do more.
Welcome to your new season where the things that reduce others will not reduce you. As surely as the Lord lives, your strength will not wane.
