Scripture Reading: 1 Kings 18: 40-46

Focus

“And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.” (1 Kings 18: 46)

In our Focal Scripture, the hand of the Lord was on Elijah, and he eventually ran ahead of Ahab into Jezreel. Elijah may not have been a sprinter all his days, but on this particular occasion, because of the hand of the Lord that came upon him, he ran ahead of Ahab. The hand of the Lord prepared and empowered Elijah to accomplish what would have been impossible; the hand of the Lord was upon him, and he accomplished a feat.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: the hand of the Lord is coming upon you to prepare you for major feats. The hand of the Lord shall prepare you to accomplish what you ordinarily would not have been able to accomplish; the hand of the Lord shall be upon you to empower you for exploits that you would ordinarily not achieve by yourself; the hand of the Lord shall be upon you to make you a generational champion.

In modern times, anyone who ran on foot and overtook someone who rode on a chariot with horses would have needed trainers and lots of preparation; but all that Elijah needed was the hand of the Lord upon him. Others may have labored to achieve it; others may have worked hard to make it happen; others may have struggled to accomplish it; but by the reason of the hand of the Lord upon you, it shall be unbelievably easy.

Get set: the hand of the Lord shall prepare you for great exploits; the hand of the Lord shall empower you for greatness and increase; the hand of the Lord shall empower you to do more than people around you can do; the hand of the Lord shall empower you to do more than you ordinarily have the capacity to do or accomplish; the hand of the Lord shall empower you to obtain and access favors that someone at your level isn’t entitled to.

No matter what you do, ask God to cause His hands to be upon you, and you will accomplish mighty works and exploits.
