The cedar tree is not the world’s tallest tree; it is not the world’s largest tree. It is not number one on the list of trees in the world. However, the cedar tree possesses several qualities which the world’s tallest and largest trees do not have. The cedar tree is not the tallest or largest, but it is one of the most relevant trees that has ever existed. It has unique qualities in abundance, which other trees lack.
In our Focal Scripture, the psalmist likened the righteous to a cedar tree. The psalmist likened the righteous to a tree that is so unique although it isn’t the tallest or largest. The psalmist likened the righteous to a tree that doesn’t sit on top of the chart, but nevertheless has qualities that trees at the top don’t have. The psalmist didn’t liken the righteous to the world’s largest or tallest tree, but he likened him to a supremely unique tree.
Friend, receive the mantle of uniqueness. You will stand out amongst the multitudes. You will be recognized by your generation. You will attract the attention of kings and nobles. You will stand out no matter how negative the circumstances are. You will stand out no matter the situation of the economy. You will stand out on account of what the Lord has put in you. Your start will shine brightly beyond your expectations.
Today, hear God’s proclamation: you are unique. You are wonderfully and fearfully made. You possess what your generation needs. You possess what is missing in the multitude. You have what the kings of this world need. You have what people ahead of you need. What you have in you will stand you out ahead of the crowd. What you have in you will cause you to be known in the nations. What you have in you will advertise you.
You may not be what other people are, but dare to be the best version of who God has made you. Stick to your uniqueness; be comfortable being who God has made you; be comfortable in your uniqueness.
