You Smell Good

5th September 2021

Scripture Reading: Psalm 92: 1-12

Focus

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” (Psalm 92: 12)

It is interesting to observe that apart from being a tree that smells good, the cedar tree is also used in producing perfumes. The oil that flows from the cedar tree is used in producing perfumes which people may also use in a bid to smell good. So, apart from smelling good, the cedar tree helps other people to smell good. Apart from having a pleasant fragrance, the cedar tree helps other people to enhance their own fragrance.

Notice that our Focal Scripture likens the righteous as one who will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. The righteous man is likened to a tree which not only smells good, but also helps others to smell good. The righteous is likened to a cedar tree that enables other people to smell better. That means, the smell of the cedar tree has the capacity to transform one who doesn’t smell good. The pleasant smell of the righteous is transferable.

Friend, the divine fragrance on you has the capacity to help others to smell better. The favour of God on your life can extend to those connected to you. The doors that heaven has commanded to be opened to you will also remain open for those connected to you. The same way the cedar tree produces what can be used to make a man smell good, you have the capacity in you to make the lives of those around you to have a fragrance.

Going forward, let the favours you enjoy from God flow into other lives. Let the fragrance in you transform your family to smell better; let the fragrance in your marriage help other marriages to become better and richer; let fragrance in your finances put a smile on someone’s face. Let the seed of greatness within you make an impact on people around you, your place of work, your ministry, your city, etc.

God is set to favour people around you because of you; He will bless people connected to you because of you; God will use your life to perfume other lives that don’t smell good.

Declaration

The fragrance of favour on me will rub off on those around me, in Jesus’ name!
