Face Your Battles

Army Of Angels

15th October 2021

Scripture Reading: Joshua 5: 13-15, 6: 1-6

Focus

“And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?” (Joshua 5: 14)

The angel of the Lord that showed up before Joshua in our Focal Scripture introduced himself as captain of the Lord’s host. He was not just a captain to himself; he was captain to several heavenly soldiers in his battalion. He may have been seen alone by Joshua, but he had several more angels at his disposal, willing to fight the battle of Joshua. There was a host behind the captain. There was a military squad of heaven behind the captain.

Friend, there is a heavenly army mobilized in your favour and against your adversaries. There is a captain of the Lord’s host available to fight for you, and he is not alone, he has an innumerable company of warring angels attached to him. There is a heavenly host willing to crush the adversity before you. There is a heavenly host willing to help you to obtain victory in the battles of life. There is a heavenly host gathered to work in your favour.

The captain of the Lord’s host had enough heavenly soldiers in his team, willing to take down the walls of Jericho. If the Lord would open your eyes, you would see that there are more than enough angels available to come to your rescue. There are more than enough combatant angels willing to crush your opposition. There are more than enough angels willing to pull down your walls of Jericho with ease.

The fall of the walls of Jericho may have appeared simple to one without discerning eyes; but it looked so simple because there was a heavenly host that worked where eyes could not see. As you call forth the host of heaven to work in your favour, angels will be dispatched to work for you where eyes cannot see. Angels will be sent to minister to you where you cannot reach. Angels will fight the battles you cannot fight on your behalf.

Joshua may have been overwhelmed by what he saw as he first beheld the walls of Jericho, but he probably had no idea that he could place an order for angelic support. Even before he asked, heaven sent an army to fight for him. Use the armies of heaven at your disposal. Don’t let your angels waste without duties.
