Don’t Lose Hope

2nd September 2022

Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 37: 1-14

Focus

“Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.” (Ezekiel 37: 11)

In our Focal Scripture, God Himself compared the valley of dry bones to the whole house of Israel. The house of Israel was saying that their bones were dried, and their hopes were lost. They were at that place where they had no hope of anything new. They were in that place where their circumstances did not make room for any hope at all. They were in that place where the most reasonable thing to do was to give up.

Friend, your life may have ticked all the boxes that suggest that it is okay to give up and lose hope. You may be faced with circumstances that suggest that there is nothing more to expect from now till the end of 2022. You may be in that place where it seems that your bones are dried up and all hope is lost. You may be in that place where you have been emptied out of every substance in you. God says to you, don’t give up.

Your chapters may seem closed in the eyes of men, but it they are not yet closed in the eyes of God. Your case may be closed in the eyes of men, but it is not closed in the eyes of God. You may have come to the end of the road, by your own assessment; but the God of all flesh says there is more beyond the horizon. You may be in that place where you simply can’t see how you will make it out of your current quagmire, but God has your exit plan all figured out.

At a time when the whole house of Israel imagined that their bones were dried and all hopes were lost, God was planning to take them out of the grave. God was planning to do the impossible as they imagined that they were finished. You may have reasons to give up, but God has greater plans that will soon be unveiled before your very eyes. You may not know how to proceed further, but God has your advancement all figured out.

Don’t give up; stay on the grind. The God who is able to bring forth the new after taking away the old, is about to open new chapters of good news in your favour.
