Fight Your Battles

Fight Your Battles

8th November 2020

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

Focus

“And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel.” (1 Samuel 17: 25)

Our Focal Scripture gives an insight into the benefits that were to accrue to anyone who succeeded in defeating Goliath. Such a person was to be given the king’s daughter and his family was to be exempted from taxes in Israel. So it was a victory that had implications for others who were not in the battle field. It was a victory that would grant better positioning to whosoever killed Goliath. It was a victory that had family implications.

Friend, if you care to check, you would realize that the victories you need to attain have implications for people connected to you. Your success or failure has implications for people around you; your victory or defeat has implications for your next generation; your failure to hit your targets will leave people around you stranded; your failure to defeat your Goliath will cause men to miss a chance to have a better life.

Today, arise and fight the battles that are laid before you. Fight against the ‘Goliaths’ that want to make a mess of your destiny, family, career, business, ministry, finances, health, nation, etc. Speak prophetic words against every seat of Satan positioned against you. Speak the word of the Lord against the spiritual wickedness that is affecting people around you. Arise in warfare against the forces of darkness around you.

David later rose to the occasion and defeated Goliath, and his family gained the benefits of the battle he fought and won. His victory yielded dividends for his family. Brace up and fight your battles with everything you have in you, and be sure that your family will reap dividends of the victories you win. Even if everyone is afraid, dare to defeat the enemy. Dare to be the one to scuttle the arrangements of the enemy.

Remember, the victory of David was not for David alone. There was a family behind the scenes that was to reap from that victory. Fight your battles, gain the victory, and give those connected to you the benefits of your victory.

Declaration

I win my battles; those connected to me shall gain benefits from my victory, in Jesus’ name!
