From Pain To Glory

1st March 2019

Scripture Reading: John 11: 1-44

Focus

“When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” (John 11: 4)

When Jesus heard about Lazarus’ sickness, He immediately decreed that the sickness was not unto death but for the glory of God. The word ‘glory’ is derived from the Hebrew word ‘chabod’ which means ‘weight’. So Jesus heard about a situation that was to cause pain to the family of Mary and Martha, and He simply decreed that it was for the purpose of manifesting the weight and glory of God. It was going to be from pain to glory.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every pain you are facing at the moment shall become a platform for the manifestation of God’s glory. Your setbacks will attract the weight of God into action; your failures, delays, disappointments, rejections, etc will cause the weight of God to be thrown behind you to help you prevail and overcome your overcomers; the weight of God will crush any opposition against your advancement.

When the weight of God is involved, everything that is not in alignment with His will for you is crushed. When the weight of God is made manifest, doctors’ reports are divinely overruled, locked doors are miraculously opened, lost opportunities are restored, difficult challenges are made easy, impossibilities become possible, miracles that sound like lies become the order of the day, and divine favour comes into play.

Lazarus’ sickness eventually led to his death, but that was not the end of the story; Jesus showed up and raised him from the dead. Even when it seemed that the devil was about to win, Jesus showed up and the dead came back to life. No matter how Satan rages, you will not be defeated if God be for you. Nothing can withstand the glory of God when it is made manifest. No negativity survives the manifestation of the glory of God.

Ask God to use your challenges as a platform for His glory to be made manifest. Ask God to make you a candidate of His glory.

Declaration

I move from pain to glory; I am a candidate of God’s glory, in Jesus’ name!
