Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 6: 1-7

Focus

“And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.” (2 Kings 6: 1)

The sons of the prophets in our Focal Scripture realized that the place where they dwelt with Elisha was too small, and they demanded for a chance to build a bigger place. Those sons of the prophets were still in the school of prophets; they were still learning; they were learners, they were constantly applying their hearts to knowledge, they made themselves available to learn, and they gradually broke out of their small, narrow place.

Friend, if you desire to leave your narrow place, understand that knowledge is your empowerment for advancement. Constantly apply your heart to knowledge; open your mind and learn what you haven’t learnt; learn from people around you; learn the best practices for the future you want to make happen; learn the principles that will pave the highway for your success; make yourself available for learning; be a learner.

They is no greater knowledge than the knowledge of God’s word. Search the scriptures and seek out new knowledge that will empower your advancement in destiny. Fill yourself with the word of the Lord. Listen to God’s word as it is taught by great teachers of the word. Don’t be counted among those who are simply too big to learn new things about God and about what they do. Don’t exclude yourself from the business of learning.

Did you realize that these sons of the Prophets were learning under the tutelage of Prophet Elisha? They were aspiring to become prophets, and they placed themselves under someone who inherited the prophetic mantle from Elijah. As you seek to learn, also intentionally make yourself available to learn from the best. Learn from excellent men; learn from men who have done more than others could do; learn from champions.

To stop learning is to expire; the future belongs to men who prepare themselves with knowledge. Grow your knowledge.
