God Is With You

28th January 2020

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 10: 1-7

Focus

“And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.” (1 Samuel 10: 7)

In our Focal Scripture, Samuel announced to Saul that God was with him. There were battles to fight, there were adversaries to be defeated, there were enemies to ward off, there was a future that Saul could not predict, but God promised to be with him. God promised to stand by Saul in the midst of the uncertainties that were to come his way. God promised to be with Saul as he stepped up for enthronement and coronation.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in your 2020 journey to your thrones and crowns, God is with you. As you face the challenges that will come in 2020, God is with you; as you deal with the opposition that may arise against you, God is with you; as you confront and conquer the enemies of your destiny, God is with you; as you come face to face with the uncertainties that play out in the new year, God is with you.

God will be with you in the days when troubles blow; God will be with you in the days when rivals show up to contend for your throne; God will be with you as you face off with the kingdom of darkness; God will be with you in the days when no one believes you; God will be with you in the days when you do not even believe in yourself; God will be with you in the mountain and in the valley; God is with you all the way in 2020.

Samuel told Saul to do as occasion serves him because God is with him. So the presence of God with Saul was meant to empower him to take action. The fact that God is with you is empowerment for action. Because God is with you, dare to start that new project; start that business; start that new firm; start that new work; start off something; do something great with the presence of God that is with you.

God’s presence with you is assured; step out and take 2020 already.
