God’s Presence

16th December 2021

Scripture Reading: Judges 6: 1-14

Focus

“And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.” (Judges 6: 12)

The Angel that showed up to meet Gideon in our Focal Scripture said to him, “The LORD is with thee…”. The Angel spoke to Gideon about the presence of God with him. That Angel did not begin by telling Gideon how powerful and mighty he was; he began by telling Gideon about the presence (of God) that was with Him. There may have enemies all around, there may have been negative circumstances, but the Angel spoke of God’s presence and nothing more.

Friend, more than ever before, grow in your awareness of the presence of God with you. Be more conscious of the fact that God is with you. Be more aware of the fact that there is a divine presence that is committed to you in spite of whatever may be happening around you. Be more aware of the fact that there is a heavenly presence following you. Be more aware of the fact that God is on your side no matter the multitudes against you.

Don’t have an awareness of what men are saying. Don’t fill your mind with the awareness of what is not working in your favour. Don’t invest in the awareness of what is about to work against you. Don’t invest in the awareness of what is not in your favour. Don’t invest in the awareness of how you feel or what men said about you. Grow in the awareness of what God has already done on your behalf and how that He will not allow you to go down despite the plots and plans of the enemy.

Your might is not in your size or vehemence or zeal or tenacity. Your might lies in the presence of God around you. That is why some afflictions will pass by you without getting to you. That is why you will have realities that do not reflect the negativity in your environment. That is why you will win battles against greater opponents. That is why you will progress despite the negative predictions of those against you.

Remember, your might begins with the presence of God. Stay connected to God and you will defeat every adversity around you.

Memory Verse

“34. He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. 35. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.” (Psalm 18: 34-35)
