Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 4: 1-7

Focus

“Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.” (2 Kings 4: 1)

The woman in our Focal Scripture told Elisha that the creditor had come to take her two sons to be bondmen. The target of the creditor was to take her sons. In verse 5 of our Scripture Reading, these same sons helped their mother to gather vessels from neighbours, and the vessels they got gave opportunity for the multiplication of oil for their mother. So what the creditor was fighting later added to the woman’s increase.

Friend, have you ever wondered why the devil is fighting so much over your destiny? Have you ever wondered why the devil wants to make a mess of the destiny of your children? Have you ever wondered why there are so many attacks against your prayer life, consecration, dedication, consistency, focus, strength, etc? Have you wondered why you have continued to face attacks in your career, business, ministry, etc?

Guess what? That thing the enemy is fighting will eventually increase you. The relationships the enemy is trying hard to truncate will lift you higher; those children whose destinies the enemy want to reduce will become tools in the hands of God to increase you; those visions that the enemy wants to stifle have the potential to lift your destiny to another level; that prayer life that the enemy is fighting has the capacity to birth heavy results.

That widow of the son of the prophets did not fold her arms so that the creditor can take her sons. She cried out for divine intervention. The tools for her future increase came under attack and she fought back. Don’t sit back and allow the seeds of your greatness to be attacked endlessly. Fight back and stop the enemy from killing the seeds of your greatness. Stop the enemy from killing your prayer life, consecration, competence, etc.

Remember, if it was not worth much, the enemy would probably never bother about it. Preserve that which the Lord has put in your hands. Don’t let the enemy steal your treasures.

Declaration

I guard my seeds; the enemy will not prevail over my seed, in Jesus’ name!
