Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 16: 1-13

Focus

“And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.” (1 Samuel 16: 1)

When God sent Samuel to anoint a new king, He didn’t give all the details; He didn’t mention the name of the one who was to be anointed; He didn’t say if the new king was among the sons at home or sons in the bush with the flock. God did not give all the clarity that one would have preferred to work with, but Samuel stepped out all the same, and faced his assignment. The destination was not clear, but Samuel stepped out.

Friend, even when your destination is not clear, keep going. Even if you are not sure of how things will turn out, stay on the grind and keep pushing and believing; even when you cannot really say that you are sure of the end of the matter, just start; even when you are not completely sure of how the results will show up, keep pushing and pressing; even if you are not sure of tomorrow, step out in faith, and run with God.

Samuel came close to making mistakes before He eventually anointed David, but God was on hand to rescue him from his error. The God who knows that you do not know everything you need to know will be standing by to keep you on track. The God who knows the end from the beginning will lead you in the path that will take you to His expected end; God will guide your processes until they yield the result He determined.

Don’t give up because of the uncertainties of life; don’t give up because your expectations are still pending; don’t stay back in your comfort zone because you are not sure of what next life might throw at you; don’t allow the unpredictability of tomorrow to make you prefer your yesterday above the better tomorrow that God will make happen; don’t allow yourself to be stopped because there is a lack of clarity in what you are doing.

If God be for you, just trust Him, obey Him, and step out in faith. As surely as the Lord lives, you will not miss your way.
