Make Things Happen

17th October 2019

Scripture Reading: 1 Kings 18: 40-46

Focus

“So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,” (1 Kings 18: 42)

In our Focal Scripture, as Ahab went to eat and drink and make merry on account of the impending rain that was to fall in Israel, Elijah went to the top of the Mount Carmel to sweat it out in prayers. One man was to enjoy the times and seasons that were about to change, but another man took the responsibility of engineering a change in the tides of time from the place of prayer. One was a controller of seasons, while the other enjoyed it.

Friend, God has raised you as one who is able to call the shots and control the times and seasons with your words. It may be easier and more enjoyable to relish the seasons that others created, but God is calling you to the higher place of causing great and mighty things to happen for the benefit of others. God is calling you to the place where the destinies of men will receive supplies through you; God is calling you to a higher life of impact.

You are wired to control situations and make new things happen. You are wired to download the resources of heaven for your generation. You were redeemed so that you can open the doors of redemption to those connected to you; you were raised to raise others; you were divinely empowered so that people around you can enjoy God’s goodness through you; you were made to carry people into their new season.

The entire nation of Israel needed rain, King Ahab also wanted the rain, but it was Elijah who used his access to heaven to make it happen. The access that Elijah had to heaven became the platform to release God’s goodness to an entire generation. Your access to God through prayers will cause a release of what your generation is seeking to have; your access to God’s throne will cause the resources of heaven to attend to your generation.

Don’t sit back and wait for others to make things happen. Be the one to make things happen. Be the one to open the gates of increase and relevance to your generation.
