New Heights

28th July 2021

Scripture Reading: 2 King 9: 1-13

Focus

“And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:” (2 Kings 9: 1)

Elisha commanded one of the sons of the prophets to take a box of oil and proceed on a journey to Ramothgilead. The word Ramothgilead means ‘heights of Gilead’. So the assignment of that son of the prophet was to take place in a height he had to walk up to. His next level manifestation was to happen on a height. He was commanded to proceed to a height he was not currently positioned on. He was called into new heights.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you are moving into new heights. You are stepping into levels that hitherto were inaccessible to you. You are stepping into new realms of glory that once eluded you. You are stepping into new heights in all facets of your life. You are stepping into new heights you have previously never attained. You are stepping into new heights of glory and favour. You are stepping into your high places.

That son of the prophet did not just go to Ramothgilead for nothing. He went there, and he performed an assignment that was ordinarily way above his paygrade. He went to a new height, and he accomplished a new thing he had never done before. Hear me as I hear the Lord: as you ascend to your new heights, you will accomplish new things, you will get unprecedented results, new doors and gates will open to you, and your new heights will come with distinction.

While in Ramothgilead, that son of the prophets came in the midst of captains (warriors) and gave instructions which they had to obey. In the new height he stepped into, he commanded people who ordinarily should have been the ones to command him. Hear me as I hear the Lord: in your new height which is imminent, everything will obey, everyone will obey, and remarkably, even those ahead of you will obey.

Ask the Lord to issue the command that will take you to your new heights. Ask the Lord to give your feet strength to rise to your high places.
