No More Darkness

25th April 2019

Scripture Reading: Esther 6: 1-14

Focus

“On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.” (Esther 6: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that night when the king couldn’t sleep because Mordecai was to be honoured. Night seasons speak of dark moments; night time speaks of those moments when the chapters of certain activities have been closed; night time speaks of that time when men have decided to rest from their labour. At such a moment when chapters ought to have been closed, God kept the King awake to lift Mordecai.

Friend, you may be in your dark moments, you may be at that point where the chapters have been closed against you, you may be in your season of darkness and adversity, you may be in that season when you can’t see anything positive happening around you, you may be in that season when there is a tendency for negativity to show up; but God is about to show up and keep the king awake in order to favour you.

This may be a dark moment for you in your career, but God is about to show up; this may be a dark moment for your family, business, marriage, finances, academics, vocation, etc, but God is about to show up like He showed up for Mordecai. You may not see signs of anything positive happening around you, but God is showing up nonetheless; you may not have any idea of how to take the next step, but God is showing up.

No adversity will have the final say in your life. No negativity will prevail over you. No darkness will stretch in your life. The same God who interrupted the night sleep of the King in order to favour Mordecai will cause a new thing to arise in your night season. Weeping may have arisen in your ‘night’ time, but the morning is coming with mega joy and gladness. Weeping will give way to laughter.

Ask the Lord to interrupt your night season as He interrupted that of Mordecai. Ask the Lord to make laughter to arise from your dark places.
