Not Their Victim

27 August 2019

Scripture Reading: Acts 27: 41-44, 28: 1-6

Focus

“41. And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves. 42. And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.” (Acts 27: 41-42)

Our Focal Scripture tells the tale of a disaster that took place in the midst of the sea, involving Paul and other prisoners who were guarded by soldiers. The ship that Paul sailed in, broke into pieces and the soldiers began considering killing the prisoners, including Paul. A catastrophe had just happened, things had just gone bad, and soldiers sought to take undue advantage of the bad situation to do something negative.

Friend, there are people hoping to take advantage of whatever has gone wrong around you in order to do you harm. There are people who want to use your weak points against you; there are people who want to take advantage of your misfortune to cause you more harm; some people are looking for certain policies in order to use them against you; there are people seeking to make you a victim because you are in a vulnerable situation.

Today, I pass a decree: any man that wants to take advantage of your misfortune to do you harm, let their evil plans be scuttled by the finger of God. Any hater that wants to take advantage of the wrong policy or documents to keep you where you are at the moment, let the fire of God interrupt them; any messenger from the pit of hell that wants to hinder you by virtue of challenges you didn’t create, let the power of God stop them now.

Paul and his fellow prisoners did not have a death sentence on them, yet soldiers plotted to kill them all. Soldiers wanted to take advantage of a negative situation in order to make them victims. Hear me as I hear the Lord: any man that wants to make you a victim because you are in a vulnerable position, let the fire of God silence them now. Let the power of God arise against the haters that want to make you a victim of what is not right.

You will not be reduced; your destiny will not be exchanged. You will not be a victim of another man’s mistake; you will not be a victim of circumstances beyond your control. You simply won’t be a victim.

Declaration
