See The Future

15th December 2019

Scripture Reading: Luke 14: 28-30

Focus

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” (Luke 14: 28)

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of the man who decided to build a tower and first sat down to count the cost and know if he had enough resources to finish his house. Counting the cost of the building meant that he needed to know what the materials would cost him to achieve the picture he had in mind; it meant that he needed to see the future house before it becomes reality; it meant that he needed to visualize and embrace the future whilst still operating in the present.
Friend, it’s high time you became futuristic. See the future; live in the future; pay attention to the future that is yet to become your reality; plan for the future; have eyes that can see what others around you are yet to see; see more than men expect you to see; see more than circumstances want you to see; see the tomorrow you are yet to step into; embrace the future before you get there; be compliant with the future of your dreams; align your today with the tomorrow you want to see happen.
For that man to count the cost of his tower that was yet to be built, he needed to have a picture of a tower, and match his resources with the future he desired. He aligned himself with the future he desired. Align yourself with the future of your dreams; put yourself in the line of the achievements you desire to make tomorrow; build yourself to fit into the levels you desire to attain in the future.
If excellence will be your portion in the future, then learn to get into the future while still in the present. Learn to perceive tomorrow before it comes; learn to prepare for future achievements before the opportunities arrive; learn to pay more attention to the future and not to the past; learn to live in your today in such a way that your tomorrow will not reject you; be a friend of the future you want to make happen.
Remember, there is no excellence for they that live in their today whilst focusing on yesterday. Live for the future; live in the future; see the future.
