Speak The Word

6th March 2020

Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 6: 24-25, 7: 1-20

Focus

“Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.” (2 Kings 7: 1)

When the matter of famine in Samaria came to Elisha, he proclaimed the word of the Lord. Elisha’s solution to a national problem was the word of the Lord; his recipe to deal with what was dealing with an entire nation was the word of the Lord. He didn’t sit back to think of mere human strategies; he simply declared the word of the Lord, and that word of the Lord brought the famine and lack to an end.

Friend, you may have encountered famine or lack, or indeed any problem at all; the word of the Lord will deal with your famine. The word of the Lord will deal with your lack of favour; the word of the Lord will deal with your setbacks; the word of the Lord will deal with every delay and retrogression the enemy has set against you; the word of the Lord will break the chains the enemy set up for you; the word of the Lord is your solution.

Elisha did not just think of the word of the Lord; he declared it, and it brought the famine to a close. Speak the word to your famine, and it will come to an end. Speak the word of the Lord to every circumstance that needs to change, and it will have no option but to change for good. Speak the word of the Lord to every negativity that has persisted, and it will give way. Speak life to the dead places of your life, and they will live again.

Elisha didn’t bother to speak concerning the Syrians whose blockade around Israel triggered the challenge; he simply spoke a solution into being, and it took care of the entire situation. Stop paying undue attention to the situations surrounding you; just speak the word to it, and the word will take care of it. Speak the word of the Lord, and it will take care of even the issues behind the scenes that you are not aware of.

Stop complaining; start speaking the word of the Lord, and your situations will turn around.

Declaration
