Speak The Word

16th August 2020

Scripture Reading: Luke 5: 1-11

Focus

“And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,” (Luke 5: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of people who pressed upon Jesus to hear the word of God. These people were probably pushing and shoving to get to Jesus so that they could hear the word of the Lord. The word ‘press’ is the root word for ‘pressure’. So pressure came towards Jesus, and that ‘pressure’ wanted to hear the word of God. Pressure came to Jesus, because pressure wanted to hear God’s word. Pressure demanded for the word of the Lord.

Friend, whenever pressure comes your way, it places a demand for the word of the Lord. That pressure you are currently facing wants to hear the word of the Lord. That pressure in your health wants to hear the word of the Lord. That pressure in your finances wants to hear the word of the Lord. That pressure in your family/marriage wants to hear the word of the Lord. The pressures coming on all sides simply want the word.

Stop complaining because of the pressures you face; stop getting dejected because you are surrounded by circumstances you did not particularly plan for. Stop getting worked up because of the pressures that life has brought your way. Stop allowing pressure to make you a complainant, rather than a speaker of the word of the Lord. Stop allowing pressure to depress you. Stop allowing pressure to make you mad.

Speak the word of the Lord to every pressure in your life. Speak God’s word to the financial challenges you are faced with; speak the word to your health troubles; speak the word to the pressures coming from your career, business, academics, visions, ministry, etc; speak God’s word to every situation that has come to unsettle you. When pressures come, dig deep into the word of the Lord and get an answer for the pressure.

Start speaking the word of the Lord to every pressure that comes your way. Speak the word to your pressure and watch God’s word deal with every pressure.

Declaration

I speak the word to every pressure I am facing; pressure, fizzle out now, in Jesus’ name!
