Scripture Reading: Judges 6: 1-14

Focus

“And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;” (Judges 6: 9)

In our Focal Scripture, God reminded the children of Israel of how He delivered them from the hands of the Egyptians and out of the hand of those who oppressed them. This was not their first stint with bondage. God had set them free the first time they were bound. God had turned the tables against their oppressors in time past. God had made them possess the land of their enemies. The same God who did it before was going to do it again.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: what the Lord did for you before, He will do it again. God will heal you again. God will help you again. God will send you helpers again. God will defeat your enemies for you again. God will show you mercy again. God will upturn the verdict of your oppressors again. God will cause new doors to be opened to you again. God will cause you to be victorious again. God will open new chapters for you again.

It may have seemed that the oppression of the Midianites had gone beyond the control of the children of Israel, but it was not yet beyond God’s control. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the things that appear to be beyond you are not beyond the ability and capacity of God. God is not scared of the enemies that you are scared of. God is not afraid of the circumstances that want to swallow you; and He will deal with whatever wants to deal with you.

The children of Israel only needed to cry to God, and He showed up again like He always would. Their prayers received answers like always. Hear me as I hear the Lord: as you cry for mercy, the Lord will hear you and help you. As you seek divine intervention, it will become your reality on a matter of time. As you knock on the doors of heaven for help, the same God who showed up for you before will show up again.

Don’t allow today’s challenge make you see God as a yesterday’s God alone. He is still the God of today and God forever. If He did it before, He will do it again.

Declaration
