Walk In Purpose

18th July 2019

Scripture Reading: Luke 8: 22-25

Focus

“Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.” (Luke 8: 22)

When Jesus determined that it was time to go over to the other side, He boarded a ship. The journey He was about to embark upon was a journey across the water, and He went for a ship to make His journey a reality. Jesus did not need to indulge in a means of transport that would be antithetical to His movement and purpose on the other side; He chose what He needed; He moved in the direction of His purpose.

Friend, in all your moving, move in the direction of your purpose. Move in the direction of what you want to achieve; move in a company of those whose presence can aid the fulfillment of your dreams and goals; move with a company of those who add more energy to your passions and ambitions; move in a direction that takes you closer to the fulfillment of your mission; take steps, decisions, precautions, etc that move you into purpose.

It is a misadventure and a needless miscalculation for you to have a purpose in one direction but spend all your time and efforts moving in an opposite direction. You are simply getting set for a life of zero accomplishment if all you are currently doing is to major on your minors and minor on your majors; you are getting set for a life that is all vision but no results if your actions and decisions move you further away from your goals.

If you do not know the way to your purpose, every way will look like a good way for you; if you are on a journey to your goals and assignments, not everybody will be your friend; if you move in the direction of your purpose, you may not have the same appetite that others have, you may not spend your time the way they spend theirs, you may not love what they love, you may not spend on what they spend on, you just will be different.

Don’t be counted among men whose choices, actions, movements, etc were in directions opposite their purposes in life. Walk in purpose.
