Watchers Are Watching

Watchers Are Watching

17th December 2019

Scripture Reading: Luke 14: 28-30

Focus

“Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,” (Luke 14: 29)

In the parable that Jesus told about the man who set out to build a house, mention was made of those that may mock him if they behold the unfinished tower. So in the equation that Jesus set forth, there was a major factor involving people whose response would have been a mockery if perchance, that man could not finish his project. So, there were mockers on standby, waiting for that man to fail, so that they could mock him.

Friend, as you run your race in the remaining days of 2019, and as 2020 beckons, be aware that there are men who are standing by, waiting for you to fail so that they can mock you. There are naysayers who are watching to see if your dreams will crumble like a pack of cards. There are men whose response to your big dreams is to sit back waiting for the day it will be called a failure. There are men whose mockery will arise if you fail.

Make a commitment today to succeed in what you do. Commit yourself to be a success in your career, business, ministry, academics, ventures, vocations, etc. Commit yourself to be a success in every dimension; commit yourself to deny your naysayers a chance to mock you; commit yourself to do more than enough to avoid making a mockery of yourself and embarrassing the God who has endowed you greatly.

The people who were going to mock the man in our Focal Scripture were men who were to view what he built. There were people watching to see if he would complete his tower, or not. You have watchers. Just in case you are tempted to stop or fail, remember, your watchers are watching. If you are tempted to play the mediocre game, remember, your watchers are watching.

Let the multitude of your naysayers and potential mockers spur you to push harder for the goals you have set for yourself. Don’t be an example of he that was mocked for playing below the turf of excellence.

Declaration

I must succeed; I play the game of excellence, in Jesus’ name!
