You Are God’s Pencil

16th September 2021

Scripture Reading: Psalm 92: 1-12

Focus

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” (Psalm 92: 12)

One of the modern uses to which the cedar tree is deployed, is pencil making. So, pencils are made from cedar wood. A pencil is used in writing. One of the reasons why we write is so that we won’t forget what has been written. The pencil that is used in writing may even finish, but what it has been used to write remains. What is written remains even after the pencil is gone. What is written could even last longer than the pencil.

Beloved, when the psalmist likened you to a cedar in Lebanon, God was simply trying to say that you are a pencil that will be used to write things that will outlive you. You are a pencil in God’s hands to write things that will forever be remembered. You are a pencil that will be used to rewrite the stories of people around you, and those new stories will live on, even after you are gone from this world.

Get set: God will use you to write new things that will outlive you. He will use you to make impact that will stand the test of time. He will use you for lasting exploits. The things that God will use you to write will be remembered by everyone. The things God will use your life to write will be so remarkable that even people who didn’t witness it will hear of it. God will use you to rewrite the story of men.

God will use you to write a new story in your family, career, ministry, business, etc. and that new story will resonate for years to come. You will make changes that will outlive you; you will yield uncommon results that will be the talk of town. Your life is about to write new stories in your city and in your nation. Your life is a pencil in the hands of the creator, and you will write new things that God Himself has authored by Himself.

Sharpen yourself like a man would sharpen a pencil; improve on yourself and your skills; get set for what God is about to write with your life; get set to be used as God’s pencil.

Declaration

I am a divine pencil; God will use me to write mighty wonders that will outlive me, in Jesus’ name!
