SCRIPTURE READING | LUKE 2:1-20
When Mary had her firstborn son- Jesus, He was laid in a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes. Jesus was born in a season where a census was to hold in Bethlehem, and because there was no room for him in the hotels (inn), He was laid in a manger. The Angel of the Lord would later refer the shepherds to this same manger. There may have been several hotels; there may have been several people in Bethlehem at that time.
It was a season when it would have been difficult to locate one in the numerous hotels in the city; but alas, Jesus was in a manger. He was in a lowly place. He was in a place that was not prestigious; but that same place was going to aid anyone who wanted to locate Him. The place of His birth became a mark of distinction. Where He was born was going to become a sign post for distinction. His lowly place became a mark of His visibility.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every scar in your life shall become a platform for your manifestation. Every challenge you have been through shall form the building blocks for you to shine brighter and brighter in destiny. Every setback that came your way at some point in life will eventually count when the tales of your greatness are told in this life. Every embarrassment you have had to live with will announce you to your world.
Some people may have been looking for space in the inn at the time when Jesus found space in the manger. What looked like a lowly environment was God’s way of making room for Him at a time when others were struggling for rooms. Hear me as I hear the Lord: when men think you are out of options, God Himself will make room for you in places where you shall have no competition.
When Jehovah is involved, even your ‘manger’ becomes a signpost for your distinction. If God be for you, then get set: you shall be distinguished greatly.
DECLARE WITH ME
My ‘manger’ shall become a signpost for distinction, in Jesus’ name!
