FOCUS ON PURPOSE

Focus

“There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.” (1 Corinthians 15: 41)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks of the glory of the sun and how it differs from the glory of the moon and stars. Scientists say that there are stars that are bigger than the sun, but the impact of the sun is felt more on earth because of its closeness to the earth. The closeness of the sun to the earth is why it seems bigger and makes more impact that stars which a farther and may be bigger. The glory of the sun comes with impact because it is closer.

Friend, in 2023, be intentional in staying closer to your purpose. Your impact will be hindered if you are not close to your purpose. Your impact will not be as much as it should be if you do not stay close to what God has assigned to you. Focus on what should be focused on. Stay close to your assignment. Keep your eyes on that which God has commanded you to do. Stay close to that mission that heaven has entrusted into your hands.

Any day you start to walk away from your purpose, or you start to pay less attention to your purpose, you are simply minimizing your impact. Any day you start to lose sight of what God has called you to do or accomplish, you are simply losing the divine relevance attached to your mission. Any day you start to minor on the major and major on the minor, you will end up like those stars that are big but have no impact on the earth.

Focus has never killed any man. Hard work has never backfired on anyone. You may have the potential to be more, but your focus might just be the deciding factor that will determine your relevance and impact. The close attention you pay to your assignment in 2023 and beyond, will determine how much impact and effectiveness you will record in your assignment. You may end up less if you take a break from your assignment.

Today, I pray for you: powers that distract men from their assignment and purpose, may they be far from you in 2023. May you never be counted amongst them that turned out less instead of more. May you never be counted amongst them that abandoned their purpose.

Isaiah 46: 10 says: “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:”
