Scripture Reading: 1 SAMUEL 30: 1-20

Focus

“So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.” (1 Samuel 30: 3)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the sons and daughters of David and his men were taken away. Children are the next generation of every generation. So the enemy came to take the next generation into captivity. Notice that the enemies didn’t try to make David a slave or a captive, but they tried to make his children to become captives. The enemies wanted the next generation of David to dwell in captivity.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every plot of the enemy to make your next generation to dwell in captivity, I command that plot to scatter by fire. Every plan of the enemy to make your children struggle in destiny, I command that plan to scatter by fire. Every plan of the enemy to make your children victims of what they do not know of, is broken. Every plan of the enemy to keep your next generation in bondage, is broken.

Hear me as I hear the Lord: your next generation will not dwell in bondage. Your next generation will not be put in chains by the enemy. Your next generation will not be subservient to the wishes of the enemy. Your next generation will not be stuck in destiny prisons that the enemy prepared for them. Your next generation will not end up where the enemy plotted for them to end up. Your next generation will not serve the enemy.

David’s next generation faced a battle that took them into captivity, but they could not fight back and then they ended up in bondage. As much as possible, teach your next generation to turn up like warriors. Teach them to expect battles and be ready to fight and win the battles. Teach them to rise to the occasion and stand fast whenever the enemy rises against them. Teach them how you win your own battles in the place of prayer.

May it never be said that you lived in freedom but your next generation ended in bondage. May it never be said that you won your battles and your next generation lived under the chains of the enemy.

Declaration

My next generation will not live in bondage, in Jesus’ name!

NO REDUCTION

In our Focal Scripture, the prodigal son judged himself unworthy of remaining a son to his father. He wanted to move from sonship to servanthood.
