The colt in our Focal Scripture, was a young donkey. A colt was not strong enough to bear burdens. A colt was not strong enough to be used. The owners of the colt may have considered it too young for usage, and may have wanted to give it more time to grow. Notice that it was this weak colt that Jesus opted to use. It was weak by the standards of men, but it was not too weak to be considered by Jesus. It was chosen despite weakness.
Friend, you may be at that point where you are too weak to even consider yourself to be an option in the hands of God. Your walk with God may not be strong enough. Your prayer fire may not be strong enough. Your commitment and focus may not be strong enough. Your competence may not be strong enough. Your resources may not be strong enough. Like the colt, you may have been relegated because of what you do not have.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: in the places where you are weak, may the strength of God come through for you. In the places where your strength is not enough, may the grace of God cover up for you. You may not have as much strength as your rivals and competitors, but the strength of God will make the difference for you. You may not have as much financial strength as others have, but He that has called you will justify and glorify you.
Don’t disqualify yourself because of what men desire from you that you do not yet have capacity for. By the standards of men, a colt was not strong enough to carry a burden, but by divine predestination, Jesus rode on a colt though it was weak and not sufficiently capacitated for the journey. God is He that chooses the weak things of this world to confound the wise. God is He that chooses the weak to prove a point to the strong.
Don’t let your weakness discourage you. If God be for you, His strength will make up for your weakness.
