It is instructive to observe that when the lords of the Philistines finally overpowered Samson, they put him in prison where they made him grind. So Samson was not idle afterall; he was busy, but not involved in anything related to his destiny mandate. Samson was busy doing what God did not send him to do. Samson had been disconnected from his destiny mandate, and he began to serve a purpose that did not matter to heaven.
Friend, never make the mistake of working and walking outside of heaven’s purpose for you. Don’t make the mistake of becoming busy, but caught up in the very things that have nothing to do with your destiny mandate. Don’t make the mistake of departing from the mandate that heaven put on your life. Don’t make the mistake of serving a purpose that it less than heaven designed. Don’t live below your destiny mandate.
A man who was empowered to be a terror to the enemies of Israel, suddenly became busy with grinding activities. A man who was destined to cut short the Philistines suddenly became a mere servant whose assignment did not even make any sense. Don’t make the mistake of allowing yourself to serve a purpose that heaven did not mandate you to serve. There may be people who are called to ‘grind’, there may be people called to be ordinary, but that may not be you.
Wisdom teaches that as you have a clear picture of whom God has destined you to be, also have a clear picture of who you were never meant to become. Always remember that you were not wired to be like everyone. You were not created to serve every purpose. You were not made to be as mundane as everyone around you. You were not meant to be as ordinary as some people want you to be. You were not made to be normal.
Don’t allow yourself to become that man that will grind in the prison rather than execute the Lord’s mandate. Don’t allow yourself to be taken out of heaven’s pathway for your destiny.
