Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Jehu arose and went into the house for the purpose of being anointed as king of Israel. Jehu had been in the company of his fellow captains, but when it was time for him to rise to kingship, he needed to arise and step away from where his contemporaries were. He needed to walk away from the place of his commonality with the others. He needed to be alone before kingship was bestowed.
Friend, there comes a time when any man that must rise to royalty, deliberately steps away from the crowd and gets into the inner chamber. There comes a time when a man that must attain greatness intentionally walks away from the crowd to be alone with God. There comes a time when the greatest need of a man that is transiting into a greater level, is the secret place. There comes a time when greatness needs you to be alone.
Notice that the proclamation of Jehu’s kingship, as well as his anointing as king, did not happen in the open; it happened in the secret. Jehu transited from captain to king, whilst in the secret place. Major destiny transitions do not usually happen in the open; they happen in the secret place. Major coronations and destiny elevations do not happen where eyes can see; they happen where mortals are alone with heaven.
There is a time to sit with the captains, but there is a time to step away from them in order to step into something higher than you have ever had. There is a time to be all over the place, but there is a time to withdraw into your secret place and press into more of the power and presence of God. Never allow the captains stop you from going into the inner chamber. Never allow what is happening around you to stop you from the secret place.
Jehu went into the inner chamber as a captain, but he emerged as a king. Dare to spend time in the inner chamber, and you will emerge on a higher level.
