When Jehu came forth from the inner chamber where he was anointed as King over Israel, he attempted to hide the agenda that the trainee prophet came with. Jehu attempted to dismiss the visit of the trainee prophet as being inconsequential. He tried to make it seem as ordinary as possible. Notice that the oil was already on him. Even if he chose to keep silent, the oil was going to speak loud enough. The oil could not be hidden.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: by virtue of the oil of distinction upon you, even if you choose to be silent about whom God has made you, the oil upon you will speak. Even if you want your identity to remain ordinary, the oil upon you will refuse to allow you to be ordinary. The oil upon you will speak for you even when you wish not to speak for yourself. The oil upon you will recreate your identity on an entirely new level.
Did you realize that the oil was released in the secret, but it spoke volumes in the open? What God did in Jehu in the secret spoke volumes when Jehu appeared in the midst of his fellow captains. Whatever God does in you in the secret place will eventually manifest in the open. The works of God in your life, where eyes cannot see, will speak volumes where eyes can see. You time in the secret place will soon speak louder than you can.
No matter what happens, strive to be with God in the secret place. Before desiring to be seen by men, desire that God will put His oil upon you in the secret place. Crave for the power of God that is released when men are left alone with God. Don’t be that man that shows up in the open without having received an oil from God’s presence. Don’t be that man whose public appearances isn’t backed up with private encounters.
I pray for you: may your head always be available to receive the oil that flows from God’s presence. May the oil on your head speak even when you cannot speak.
