Scripture Reading: Acts 12: 1-19

Focus

“And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.” (Acts 12: 14)

In our Focal Scripture, after Peter had showed up at the gate of the house where brethren prayed for him, a damsel figured that it was Peter. While others prayed, someone had the presence of mind to hear the voice of Peter at the gate. While others prayed, someone discerned that God had responded to their pleas. Others were content to pray, but it was a damsel that discerned that the prayers had been answered.

Friend, in this season, dare to discern. Be sensitive to the leadings of the Spirit of God. Be sensitive to what God is saying to you. Be sensitive to the things that God is opening your eyes to see. Be sensitive to the battles that God has already won on your behalf. Be sensitive to notice the men that God Himself sent into your life. Be sensitive to the seasons of your life that are changing. Be sensitive to see the answers you prayed for.

If that damsel did not notify the brethren who were in prayers, that Peter had arrived, they would have continued to pray for what God already did. If there was no one to discern, others would have literally labored and prayed in vain. If you fail to discern, you may end up laboring in vain. If you fail to discern, you may fall into the mistake of accepting situations that even God has changed. If you don’t discern, you may be stagnated.

In this season, ask the Lord to cause you to be more sensitive than ever before. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see what others are yet to see. Ask the Lord to show you opportunities that others are yet to see. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to the new season that others are yet to perceive. Ask the Lord to cause you to discern what others are unable to discern. Ask the Lord to give you eyes that see and ears that hear.

Remember, solutions came to them that prayed, only when there was someone to discern. Dare to discern, and your eyes will see divine answers.

Declaration
