In our Focal Scripture, following the instruction of Prophet Elisha, the widow of one of the sons of the prophets went into her house, shut the door and poured out her oil into the vessels that her sons got from her neighbours. There was a prophecy from Elisha concerning the impending multiplication that was soon to happen, but it was her job to pour the oil into the vessels. She got a word from Elisha, and she acted on it.
Friend, it is not enough to have heard the word of the Lord: act on the word that you have heard. Act on the word of the Lord that you have read. Act on those messages from God that you have heard in the past weeks, months and years. Act on those prophecies about your future that God has given you. Act on the prophetic instructions you have received. Act on the leading of the Holy Spirit that you have received.
Elisha gave the word, but the woman had the responsibility of pouring her oil into the borrowed vessels. There was a word, there was a promised result of filled vessels which would be set aside because they are full, but that woman had a responsibility. Guess what? God will not pour out your oil by Himself. God will not play His own role and still play yours. God will not speak a word and still play the part you ought to play.
What is that word you have heard? Would you recount all the amazing messages from God that you have listened to in the past days, weeks, months and years? It’s time to start acting on them. It’s time to live on the word. It’s time to act on the word. It’s time to take actions that will cause the word you have heard to birth results. It’s time to set your prophecy in motion by taking the actions that heaven expects you to take by yourself.
Don’t be counted among those who only hear the word of the Lord but do nothing with it. Act on the word of the Lord, and it will yield results for you.
