ACT ON THE WORD

2nd April 2023

Scripture Reading: ZECHARIAH 4: 1-9

Focus

“And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,” (Zechariah 4: 1)

It is instructive to observe that the angel that came to Zechariah did not come with a personal package for Zechariah. That angel came because there was a temple that needed to be completed. That angel came because there was a divine agenda to be fulfilled. That angel came because heaven had a purpose to which Zechariah was central. The angel came to speak to Zechariah about what God was about to do.

Friend, can I remind you that when heaven shows up, it is not only so that you can have personal answers? Heaven shows up because there is a divine agenda to fulfill which is bigger than your prayer point. Heaven shows up because there is an assignment that heaven wants you to be part of. Divine encounters are indicators that heaven has chosen to make you a partner in the manifestation of heaven’s plans here on earth.

God did not send His angel to come and gossip with Zechariah. That angel came because heaven’s mandate needed to be unveiled and acted upon. Whatever the Lord has chosen to say to you today is so that you can take action and fulfill heaven’s mandate. God does not speak for the sake of speaking; He speaks so that the word He has spoken can come to pass. God speaks so that His purpose can be executed here on earth.

Can I shock you by saying that God spoke to Zechariah so that the temple can be built? There was work to be done which was tied to what God was saying to Zechariah through the angel. As you hear the word of the Lord, take actions in line with that word. Act on the word you heard. You only heard a word from God so that you can take action. You didn’t hear a word so that you can become more knowledgeable.

Remember, faith without works is dead; words from God without your corresponding action, will not achieve all it should achieve. Don’t just hear the word of the Lord; act on the word of the Lord.

Declaration

Memory Verse

“Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let his Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life!” (James 1: 22 TPT)
