Another Man’s Labour

23rd February 2020

Scripture Reading: Ruth 2: 15-18

Focus

“And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not:” (Ruth 2: 15)

When Ruth came to Israel, she went to glean from the field of Boaz. In Leviticus 19 vs. 9-10, God set forth a law of gleaning for His people, and He commanded them to leave some of their harvest for strangers to reap. So Boaz planted, but someone he had never met was going to enjoy part of his harvest. He made efforts, he planted seeds, he watered the plants, but Ruth who did not participate in making efforts was going to reap.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: like Ruth, you will reap from the labours of other men. You will reap from efforts that others made; the successes of others shall overflow into your life; the rewards that others worked for shall overflow to you; the results of other men’s efforts shall position you for results you did not work for; you shall be called that one that enjoyed the fruits without being a part of the labour.

Ruth became part of the beneficiaries of Boaz’s blessing. She was listed as a beneficiary of what she did not struggle for. Get set: you may not struggle for it but you will get it; you will not make the arrangements but you will be a beneficiary of what another man arranged; the favours that are to be extended to other men shall be extended to you; the goodwill of other men shall overflow to you; you won’t struggle like others, but you will get it.

God made a law to help people like Ruth to glean from where they did not plant; something was written in Ruth’s favour, and it became her reality. As you receive these words, it shall become your reality. As you believe this word of the Lord, you shall testify. As you embrace the word of the Lord that has been written in your favour, there shall be a performance of what the Lord said.

Get set to reap where you did not sow; get set to benefit from efforts and struggles of other men.

Declaration
