Be Battle Ready

21st August 2019

Scripture Reading: Joshua 6: 1-20

Focus

“And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.” (Joshua 6: 3)

In our Focal Scripture, God commanded Joshua to get the men of war to compass the city of Jericho. The journey towards the possession of Jericho needed men of war. The journey of the expansion of the territory of Israel needed men who were ready to deal with whatever opposition that arose on their way. The journey to the territorial expansion and extension of Israel needed men who were ready to take down enemy forces.

Friend, if you desire to possess the gates of the enemy and expand your own territory, then get ready for war. Get ready to put up a fight against the opposers of your destiny. Get set to take on those who have vowed that you will never arise. Get set to battle against those who imagine that it is their inalienable right to keep you where you have always been. Get set to battle against those who are currently sitting on your throne.

The Jericho you seek to possess already has occupants that are not yet ready to vacate in peaceful terms, and you just might need to get them to vacate on forceful terms. The Jericho you seek to occupy has people in it who do not understand that God has given the territory to you. The Jericho you seek to possess has contenders, and if you will possess your possessions, get ready to battle with the contenders of your inheritance.

The walls of Jericho were going to fall according to the promise of God; but the men of war still needed to take their place in the process. There are things that God will do for you all by Himself, but it does not negate the fact of who you should be in the process itself. The fact that God will go ahead of you does not permit you to remain a weakling; that God has gone ahead of you is not an endorsement of your weakness or prayerlessness.

Be battle ready as you face your challenges in life. Be ready to fight and defeat the enemy through your warfare prayers. Be ready to conquer the enemy.
