The woman in our Focal Scripture was described as a woman of Canaan. She lived in a Gentile territory, where people did not know Jesus. Despite living in a place where people didn’t know Jesus, she met Jesus and called Him the Son of David. She knew Jesus even before meeting Him, despite living in an environment where people didn’t know Jesus. Tyre and Sidon did not feed her with unbelief. Her environment didn’t feed her.
Friend, no matter what happens, never allow your environment to feed you. Don’t allow the negative patterns in your environment to take root in you. Don’t allow the mistakes of people in your environment to become your style. Don’t allow the unbelief of the people around you to become your lot. Don’t allow the spiritual stagnation of people around you to become your portion. Don’t let your environment feed you wrongly.
That woman of Canaan came forth from amongst people who did not know Jesus, but she seemed to have known Jesus and even called Him the Son of David. She knew what people around her didn’t know. Even if people around you know nothing about the Lord, dare to be different. Even if you are surrounded by men who are uninterested in having divine encounters with the Lord, dare to be different. Be better than your environment.
If you allow your environment to keep feeding you with negativity, it may eventually swallow you sooner than later. If you keep allowing what is wrong around you to become your own private patterns, you just might discover soon that you have become like everyone else around you. If you keep adjusting to the unbelief of those around you, you might lose out of the divine visitations that should have been your portion.
Stop allowing your environment to feed you. Stop allowing what is wrong around you to become your pattern.
