Blessed With Longevity

1st September 2021

Scripture Reading: Psalm 92: 1-12

Focus

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” (Psalm 92: 12)

Our Focal Scripture compares a righteous man to a cedar in Lebanon. The cedar tree is one of the world’s most popular trees. It is famous for its longevity. It doesn’t just survive for a year or two; agriculturists say it may live for as long as 200 years. So, when other trees stay for a while, it stays for long; when others seem like a flash in the pan, it stays for a century or two. When others seem to expire fast, the cedar tree doesn’t expire fast.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: as the ember months begin, you have the blessing of longevity. You will not be cut short prematurely. You will not expire when it is your time. You will not be buried and you will not bury anyone. You will dominate over your environment. You will stand out amongst other ‘trees’ in the ‘forest’. When others say there is a casting down, yours shall be a tale of divine establishment with longevity.

You are not a flash in the pan; neither are you a one-time wonder. Whatever is reducing people around you will not reduce you. Whatever is cutting short those around you will not cut you short. Whatsoever is making a mess of the destinies of others will not make a mess of your destiny. Whatsoever that is threatening to swallow your efforts in this season will not prevail. You have come to stay, and no demon of hell can change that fact.

Lasting dominance is your portion. Those that predicted that you will only last for a while, are surely mistaken. Right before their eyes, you will enter a new season of undeniable relevance and dominance. You will stand the test of time no matter what happens in your environment. You will grow constantly and progressively on all sides in the remaining part of 2021. No power of hell will disrupt your run of success and influence.

Your greatness has a seal of longevity on it. You have come to stay. Your crown will last, and your reign will have a mark of longevity.
