Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Samuel told Saul that he would come to the hill of God, which also served as the garrison of the Philistines. Saul was to come to a place that was essentially a huge contradiction. How could a place be called the hill of God, and at the same time be the garrison of the enemies of God? How could God’s territory be occupied by God’s enemies? How could there be such contradiction?
Saul was anointed to be Captain over the Lord’s inheritance; by his anointing, it was his responsibility to end that contradiction. By his anointing, it was his job to ensure that enemies of God did not make a mockery of God. By his anointing, it was his responsibility to destroy the Philistines who wanted to usurp the place that God had set for himself. By his anointing, he was to annihilate the Philistines.
Friend, if there be Philistines that have occupied the hill of God, arise as a warrior and cut them off. Cut off every satanic intrusion into God’s territory; cut off every demonic influence that has established itself in the place where God’s name has been named; cut off every messenger of darkness that has settled in the inheritance that God has set aside for you; cut off every satanic activity that has encroached into your territory.
Saul was to reign over the area that was called the hill of God, but alas, the Philistines were already there, with a military garrison, plotting to take charge of where they should not be in charge of. If God has given you a place to take charge, then defeat and destroy every encroacher and trespasser that has encroached into that territory; crush every opposition that has stepped into your God given inheritance.
You were not anointed so that you can tolerate the Philistine garrison in your inheritance. You were anointed so that you can cut them off.
