DISCERN YOUR SEASON

24th April 2024

Scripture Reading: ACTS 3: 1-11

Focus

“Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.” (Acts 3: 3)

When the lame man in our Focal Scripture saw Peter and John on their way to the temple, he asked them for alms. These were the same men who eventually decreed healing to him and he became healed. These were the same men who were carriers of his new season, but he was fixated on the old. He was on the brink on his new season by reason of his encounter with these men, but he failed to discern it. His eyes were on alms.

Friend, discern your new season when you are on the brink of it. It is an error to be on the brink of the new and still be fixated on the old. It is an error to come to the hour of your visitation and not discern it. It is an error to come to your new season and be seeking what you needed in your old season. It is an error to live your life completely unaware of the fact that God Himself has change of seasons in store for you.

By the mercy of God, though the lame man was fixated on alms, Peter and John eventually ministered healing to him. They connected him to his new season despite his error in asking for alms. I pray for you: when your new season comes, may the mercies of God take you into it. May the mercies of God ensure that you not only come to the brink of your new season but also get into it. May the mercies of God usher you into the new.

You serve a God who changes times and seasons. You serve a God who is in the business of taking you from the old to the new. You serve a God who is not interested in leaving you in the same place He met you yesterday. You serve a God who is already planning for your next season and is only desiring that you be sensitive to align to it. As days turn to weeks, as weeks turn to months, and as months turn to years, seasons are changing.

Don’t be counted amongst them who were unaware as seasons changed. Be sensitive to your change of seasons. Discern when your seasons are changing.
