In our Focal Scripture, God told the men of Israel to bring their rods according to the house of their fathers. So Aaron was not the only one who had a rod. Others had rods too. Others had what Aaron had. Others had the same qualification. Others had the same advantage that Aaron had. It would appear that others were on the same level as Aaron. It would appear that there was nothing special about Aaron who simply had what others had.
Notice that Aaron did not just have a rod; he also had a word of the Lord concerning him. He didn’t just have the qualification that others had; he also had a word of the Lord that qualified him and placed him ahead of the crowd. He didn’t only have a mere rod; he had a divine backing that made him more relevant than those who had the same thing he had. Aaron’s distinction came from what the Lord said about him.
Friend, you may be caught in the midst of those who have what you have, but you have a divine backing that will distinguish you. The word of the Lord over your life will cause the results that have been predestined for you to come your way. The atmosphere of God’s word will cause results that have your name on it to manifest in your life. The word of the Lord will cause you to be distinguished ahead of those who have what you have.
Aaron may have looked ordinary in the eyes of his rivals, but he had divine backing; he placed his rod in the same place where the others placed theirs, but his rod got a result that none other got. He made the same efforts as others, but had a higher result. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you may make the same efforts that others have made, your rivals may do the same things you are doing, but your results will shut them up for good.
Walk in the consciousness of the divine backing that you have. You may seem ordinary to those around you, but there is an extraordinary God working behind the scenes for you.
