DIVINELY EXEMPTED

Scripture Reading: 1 KINGS 17: 1-16

Focus

“And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.” (1 Kings 17: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Elijah decreed that there will be famine in Israel. Notice that whilst the entire nation was in famine, Elijah did not experience famine. He had food to eat and water to drink until the famine ended. So strictly speaking, he did not experience the negativity that others experienced. What happened to others, did not happen to him. He experienced divine provision whilst famine lasted.

Friend, I pray for you: no matter the dryness, you will not be a part of it. No matter the hardship that emerges in your environment or nation, you will be exempted. No matter the difficulties that others have to grapple with, you will not be found within the same difficulties. No matter the economic downturns that ever arise, you will enjoy heaven’s supply. No matter how bad your environment becomes, you will not suffer for it.

Others were in a famine, struggling to eke out a living, but Elijah had a raven supplying him with food; and when the plan would be changed by God, he was fed by the woman in Zarephath. What others struggled to achieve, came to Elijah without struggles. Hear me as I hear the Lord: no matter the famine and difficulties that others have to grapple with, you will get your own portion freely. What others labour for, you will get it as a gift.

The season of living according to the dictates of the economy of men, is over. The era of depending on what men say in order to survive, is over. The era of being a victim of what is not right around you, is over. The era of struggling while others are also struggling, is over. Henceforth, the Lord will cause your case to be different. God Himself will cause the circumstances that are unfavourable to others to favour you greatly.

Remember, the famine was still on, but Elijah was not part of it. No matter the famine, and no matter the negativity around you, you will not be a part of it.
