Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 10: 1-7

Focus

“Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?” (1 Samuel 10: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of how Samuel anointed Saul to be captain over the Lord’s inheritance. Samuel simply poured oil on the head of Saul, and it was in affirmation of the fact that God had chosen Saul to be the king. What was playing out in the life of Saul was a script that God Himself had written; what was playing out was a decision that God had taken. Samuel may not have liked Saul, but he anointed him because God had decided.

Friend, in this year 2020 and beyond, every decision that God has taken concerning you shall begin to play out. The heights that God has destined that you will attain will begin to invite you; the thrones that God has willed that you sit on shall start inviting you to come closer; the crowns that are meant for your head shall soon start to call you closer; the greatness that God has orchestrated for you shall find expression this year.

Samuel was not the scriptwriter in that matter, but he ended up taking steps in the fulfillment of the word that God Himself had spoken. Get set: in 2020, men shall take steps in the direction of what God has already written concerning you; men shall become messengers of your lifting; whatever portion that God has ordained for you, He will put it in the hearts of relevant men who would help you to have it.

Samuel did not need to like or appreciate Saul, but he had no option but to do what God would have him do. Some of the people who need to function as messengers for your lifting may not even like you, but they will have no option but to fulfill the divine mandate on their lives to favour you immensely. They may not even have planned to help you, but by virtue of God’s agenda, they have no option but to comply.

For once, celebrate this God whose plans can never be thwarted no matter how hard anyone tries. If Jehovah is involved, there shall be a fulfillment of God’s word concerning you.
