In our Focal Scripture, God proclaimed that He had given Jericho into the hands of Joshua. The word ‘give’ is the root word for the word ‘gift’; so God was simply saying that He had given Jericho as a gift to Joshua. Jericho was a massive territory, but Joshua was to get it as a gift; it was the kind of territory that one should work for, but Joshua got it as a gift; others may have laboured for it, but Joshua got it as a gift.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will get it as a gift. You will get new territories as gifts. New doors will be opened to you as gifts. What you ordinarily would have had to struggle for will come to you as a gift. What you would have needed to fight for will come to you as a gift. You may have worked for certain levels you attained in time past, but in this new season, you will get it as a gift. What you want to achieve will come as a gift.
Jericho was a large territory; anyone could have been forgiven for planning the takeover of Jericho; but God’s promise was to give it to Joshua as a gift. Hear me as I hear the Lord: that thing you are breaking your head about, thinking of how you will achieve it, you will get it as a gift. That new possession is coming to you as a gift. You may have planned and calculated how to make it happen, but it’s coming as a gift.
When God gives, He gives His best. When God gives, He gives more than you can work for or labour for. You serve a God who sees big things you desire to achieve, and He lets you get it as a gift. You serve a God who wants to put into your hands what others have had to fight for. If God be for you, even when you are ready to work for it, you will still get it as a gift.
Get set: your next possession is coming as a gift. You will not labour for your ‘Jericho’; you will get it as a gift.
